Terms of use
Are You Ready? is operated by Are You Ready Limited, a New Zealand company (“AYR”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Are You Ready? provides educational financial-readiness information based on the information you choose to provide.
Who may use the service
You must be at least 18 years old to use Are You Ready?. The service is designed for people considering consumer borrowing in New Zealand.
No lending decision
Your Readiness Score is not a credit score, approval, pre-approval, lending offer or guarantee that finance will be available. Lenders apply their own criteria and may reach a different outcome.
Indicative calculations
Repayments, household allowances, scenarios, LVR treatment and other calculations are readiness estimates and assumptions. They are not a lender's serviceability assessment and may differ from calculations used by a lender or adviser.
No personalised financial advice
The service is designed to provide general educational information. It does not recommend that you borrow, repay, consolidate or apply for a particular financial product or amount. Any regulated advice provided by a lending professional is their responsibility.
Optional introductions
A referral to a participating lending professional occurs only if you choose to request contact and provide the required consent. Are You Ready? may receive a referral or lead fee from the professional or their business for making the introduction. The existence or amount of that fee does not affect your Readiness Score, result band, assessment calculations or referral eligibility. The lending professional is responsible for any regulated financial advice they provide and for their own verification and lending processes. AYR's selection or introduction of a participating professional is not a recommendation or endorsement that the professional is suitable for your individual circumstances.
No automatic sharing
Completing an assessment does not automatically send your information to a lending professional. Assessment information is shared for a professional referral only after you actively request contact and provide the required consent.
Saved-result links
If you save a result, you are responsible for keeping the private result link secure. Anyone who has that link may be able to view the saved summary.
Information you provide
Your result depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter. Your Readiness Score is a snapshot based on those inputs at that time. If your income, expenses, debts, deposit/equity, conduct or borrowing plans change, your result may also change and you should consider completing a fresh assessment.
Privacy and service providers
Use of personal information is described in the Privacy Statement, including our use of service providers such as Supabase, Vercel and Resend, possible overseas/cloud processing, retention periods and your access/correction rights. Referral consent and marketing consent are separate, and marketing consent is optional.

For privacy matters, contact privacy@areyouready.co.nz. You may also use that address for legal or service-related enquiries while AYR's dedicated general contact channel is being established.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service, legal requirements or our operating model changes. The latest version will be published on this page. Changes apply prospectively unless a different approach is required by law.
